Right, so this one’s a classic… Emma somehow managed to put diesel in her brand new Honda CB650R. Yep, diesel. On a shiny little sports bike. I mean, who even thinks to do that?

The moment she realised, panic set in. I could see the horror on her face, the kind of face you make when you know you’ve just done something stupid but it’s also slightly hilarious. Luckily, I was on hand with a siphon, and after a bit of careful extraction, we got all the diesel out and filled it back up with proper petrol. Crisis averted, and the bike was back to normal.

After that, I had a chat with a few folks at Seaways, and you know what? This is apparently a pretty common occurrence! Who knew putting the wrong fuel in a bike could be such a regular thing? I guess it’s one of those “don’t laugh too hard at first, then laugh your head off later” situations.

Honestly, watching it all unfold was part funny, part terrifying, and it’s definitely one of those stories you tell again and again. Emma’s new CB650R survived, and she now has a slightly more cautious approach to filling up. Lesson learned, sort of!
