BMW K100 Scrambler
Motorcycle Overview
BMW K100 Scrambler / Café Racer – Custom Build
Selling my BMW K100 Scrambler, originally purchased as a standard BMW K100LT from Speed Superbike Ltd in Exeter in 2020.
The bike is an import, which is clearly stated on the V5C, and since owning it I’ve transformed it into the custom Scrambler/Café Racer you see today. The engine itself has been left completely standard — all of my modifications have been cosmetic.
The standout feature is the red gold-leaf fuel tank, which has been sealed under a gloss clear coat and really sets the bike apart. The rear frame has also been shortened as part of the café-style conversion.
It’s definitely a bit of a Marmite bike, but that’s part of its appeal! It gets attention everywhere it goes and always starts conversations.
Details & Features
- BMW K100LT base bike
- Custom Scrambler/Café Racer conversion
- Red gold-leaf fuel tank with gloss clear coat

- LED running lights
- Original BMW clocks retained
- Comfortable upright riding position
- V5C in my name
- Currently insured and regularly ridden
- Runs well through all gears
- Cooling fan operates as it should

The original clocks have been retained as I didn’t want to start modifying the wiring for aftermarket clocks. They do fog slightly during use.
The bulb-monitor warning light also remains illuminated due to the LED lighting drawing considerably less current than the original incandescent bulbs, causing the original BMW bulb-monitoring system to think a bulb has failed.
The bike doesn’t currently have an electronic temperature display, although a manual temperature gauge has been fitted into the oil filler.
The colour will also need updating on the V5C to reflect the current colour scheme.
These K100s are incredibly easy bikes to customise, so you could enjoy it exactly as it is or easily change the colour/style to make it your own.
I only ride the bike in dry conditions and it is still regularly used.
Selling purely because I have several other project bikes that I want to get finished.
